Andrew Gibb - Principal
With more than 30 years of experience in all fields of non-contentious
law behind him, Andrew took over the firm (formerly Purdy Vertigan)
in 2004. He is approachable and sensible, loves golf, old water colours
and sport - being a qualified hockey umpire. The firm sponsors Norfolk
Horn sheep classes at the Royal Norfolk and Aylsham shows, and through
the Rotary Club, the Art Display at the Aylsham Show. Andrew is a Council
member of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association and a Steward during
the Show. He is Chairman of the Reepham Chamber of Commerce
Rosemary Ditchman - Consultant
Rosemary specialises in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Elderly Client matters and Probate work. After leaving university she trained as a Librarian working in the U.K. and Africa. She subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in 1977 and joined an East End practice where she became a partner. In the early 1980s she moved to Norfolk with her family and established a smallholding producing Rare Breed meat which they still run today, with a friend.
Rosemary continued to work as a Solicitor setting up her own practice in 1991. This merged with Purdys last Autumn and she is now a Consultant with the Firm. In her spare time she rings Church bells and is involved with various charities including Kickstart and the Wensum Centre.
Marina Sutton - Conveyancing Specialist
I have been working in the field of residential conveyancing since 1999,
firstly in Dereham and then joining Purdys in 2005. I mainly deal with
residential conveyancing, transfers of equity and re-mortgages. I very
much enjoy my work and meeting clients to discuss all the various aspects
of their matters, and I hope clients find me approachable and informative.
Before working in conveyancing I had previously worked for over 25 years
for Chartered Surveyors and have a keen interest in architecture. I
am married with one son who also lives locally. I enjoy hill walking
and am a member of the Ramblers Association.
Derek Sayer - Probate Specialist
Derek has gained many years of experience in undertaking legal work relating to the preparation of Wills and Administration of Estates. He entered the legal profession with a medium sized Norwich firm before moving to another similar Norwich Firm where he worked for a little over 20 years, covering a period when the firm underwent considerable expansion, largely through merger. Derek has been working for Purdys on a part time basis for about 10 years greatly preferring the atmosphere of a small firm and what he feels is the more personal contact with the clients. Outside the office Derek takes great pride in his garden and enjoys nothing more than walking the Norfolk countryside with his wife Margot.
